The USS Shadowfall was a 24th century Federation Miranda-class starship operated by Starfleet. Presented to Orion Shadow by Captain Jean-Luc Picard upon the completion of his shakedown period aboard the USS Enterprise-E, the Shadowfall was the first Starfleet vessel of any sort to be captained by a quadrupedal lifeform.
Service History[]
Following its construction at the San Francisco fleet yards in 2370, the ship was launched on stardate 48723.0, or 24 September 2371. In 2373, the Shadowfall was one of the vessels that participated in the Battle of Sector 001, along with the Enterprise-E and the Endeavour (NCC-71805).
The vessel also participated on the edges of the Dominion War, much to Orion's distinct displeasure. A key moment in the war was the 2374 recapturing of space station Deep Space 9, in which the Shadowfall had a small but critical role.
In 2376, the Shadowfall's five-year mission came to an end. The ship was decommissioned the following January and sat in storage until 2402, when it was refitted and renamed the Endeavour.
